The Communications Intern will provide digital marketing and administrative support to the department and entire WILL staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The ideal candidate is a self-starter pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Communications\/ Journalism, Marketing, Business, Economics, or Political Science.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The internship will be a 3-to-4-month position with the ability to extend based on performance. This is a paid opportunity and requires a 20-25 hours per week commitment. This position will be in our Downtown Milwaukee office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Craft content (reels, posts, etc.) for social media and draft press releases.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist in metrics tracking, media monitoring, and website maintenance.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Basic graphic design and video editing tasks as needed.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other duties as assigned.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Knowledge, Education and Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate (or age equivalent), a recent college graduate, or a graduate student.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Demonstrated interest and understanding of communications, media, and public policy, particularly as it relates to the state of Wisconsin. Knowledge of the current political climate is preferred.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Must have demonstrated proficiency with the entire Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An ideal candidate has at least some proficiency in Canva, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adobe Creative Cloud, and website content management systems such as WordPress.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work independently.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ability to work in a team environment and commitment to WILL\u2019s mission.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>How to Apply<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interested applicants should submit a resume, a cover letter, a portfolio of work, and two references (academic or employment related) to: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:pat@will-law.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pat@will-law.org<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>About WILL<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wisconsin Institute for Law &amp; Liberty (WILL) is a non-profit, public policy legal center located in downtown Milwaukee.
