A study published recently in <em>Educational Psychology Review<\/em> reveals that private schools have a more pronounced impact on students\u2019 civic literacy than their public school counterparts. The study examined the relationship between private schooling and students\u2019 levels of political tolerance, political participation, civic knowledge, and skills, as well as voluntarism and social capital.<\/p>\n<p>Some people think private schools are a threat to our form of government. But that\u2019s not the case; they are actually strengthening and preserving it.
