To accomplish this, IRG set out to build a digital community of reform-minded individuals from every corner of the state.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>THE NEWS:<\/b><span> IRG announced today that it has grown its internal digital community to <\/span><b>over 11,500 people<\/b><span>. That includes information on policies that matter to each individual and geographic location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>WHY IT MATTERS<\/b><span>: This community gives IRG the capability to engage a large group of <\/span><span>Wisconsinites<\/span><span> to better understand their challenges, and to work with them to develop policy solutions for real kitchen table issues. They plan to work with this digital community to conduct <\/span><b>surveys<\/b><span>, build <\/span><b>focus groups<\/b><span>, and <\/span><b>amplify voices<\/b><span> on kitchen table issues that matter to the group.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>With members from <\/span><b>91% of Wisconsin\u2019s zip codes<\/b><span>, <\/span><b>each of the 72 counties<\/b><span>, and <\/span><b>every legislative district, <\/b><span>IRG is positioned to understand local concerns throughout the state, helping drive policy discussions and finding solutions to on-the-ground problems<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>QUICK FACTS<\/b><span>: IRG\u2019s list includes people from:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Every region of the state<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Every Wisconsin county<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>91% of Wisconsin zip codes\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Between 75 and 500 Wisconsinites per state senate district<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>From 41 states (but thankfully the vast majority are all in Wisconsin!)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>To build the audience, IRG worked with Platform Communications, a Wisconsin-based communications firm, to conduct digital outreach and survey work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>CJ\u2019s Take<\/b><span>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIRG set out to build the best grassroots audience in the state and we focused on issues that keep people up at night \u2013 kitchen table issues. This community will help be the catalyst for conservative change in the state going forward. I\u2019m so thankful for the work of our team and Platform Communications to make this happen. We\u2019re excited to get to work with the thousands of Wisconsinites who want to stand up and be part of the solution in our state.\u201d\u00a0 \u2013 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/reforminggovernment.org\/people\/cj-szafir\/\"><b>CJ Szafir, CEO<\/b><\/a><b>, Institute for Reforming Government.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>WHAT ELSE?<\/b><span> Beyond building its list of concerned citizens, IRG\u2019s outreach team has driven over 6,000 miles and conducted over 40 listening sessions with everyday Wisconsinites to listen and learn about their concerns. This led to widely discussed reports, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/reforminggovernment.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/2023-04-27-IRG_WhatWisconsinWants_v6.pdf\"><i><span>What Wisconsin Wants<\/span><\/i><\/a><span>, and focus groups and polling of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/reforminggovernment.org\/new-deep-dive-into-wow-college-educated-women\/\"><span>Wisconsin college educated women<\/span><\/a><i><span> \u2013 conducted alongside State Policy Network.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span>IRG, only 5 years old, has become one of the most recognized Wisconsin policy shops, with three features in the Wall Street Journal, regular appearances on talk radio that reaches conservatives, moderates, and liberals, and regular commentary in Wisconsin Public Radio, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and the Wisconsin State Journal.
