But attending an event isn\u2019t necessary to observe National Day of Prayer. Praying together as a family or with friends at lunch, or at a special prayer service at our church are all ways we can take part in this uniquely American observance.<\/p>\n<p>While the law requires the president to issue a proclamation for National Day of Prayer, the law doesn\u2019t force our participation. Our participation is voluntary, but our communities, state, and nation are surely in need of our prayers. The Bible gives us the principle for healing our land\u2014Christians humble themselves, pray, seek God\u2019s face, and turn from our wicked ways.
