Further, a supermajority of likely voters say that this policy issue will be important to them when deciding which elected officials to support in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The polling \u2014 fielded in Wisconsin between June 29 \u2013 July 1 \u2014 was conducted by Remington Research Group and measured likely voter sentiment around direction of the country, issue importance, gas-car bans, and support for candidates who embrace such policies. Highlights of the polls are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsinites believe the United States is headed in the wrong direction.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>59% wrong track, 34% right track, 7% not sure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the election were to be held today, Donald Trump would win Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>49% Trump, 43% Biden, 4% Kennedy, 1% West, 0% Stein, 3% Undecided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Senate ballot is currently tied.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>48% Hovde, 48% Baldwin, 3% Undecided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On a generic Congressional ballot, Republicans lead Democrats in Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>49% Republican, 46% Democrat, 5% Undecided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The majority of likely voters in Wisconsin oppose gas-car bans.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>59% oppose, 22% support, 19% undecided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A supermajority in Wisconsin report that a candidate\u2019s position on stopping bans on new gas-cars is an important factor in their vote.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>64% important, 14% not important<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>WMC President &amp; CEO Kurt R. Bauer issued the following statement on the new polling:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis new polling makes one thing clear; Wisconsinites know that America is on the wrong track. The only thing Washington is delivering for Wisconsin are burdensome regulations and failed, unpopular policies\u2014like the EPA\u2019s gas-car ban. We should be fighting for consumer choice at a time when many Americans are being hurt by high costs and inflation, not stifling it.\u201d<\/em> <strong>\u2013 Kurt R. Bauer, WMC President &amp; CEO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AFPM President and CEO Chet Thompson issued the following statement on the new polling:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis new polling underscores what we have been hearing from the American people of all political stripes for months\u2014that they do not want the government banning gas cars, mandating electric vehicles or imposing regulations that restrict access to the types of cars that best meet a family\u2019s needs and budget.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cElected officials should take note that the American people care about this issue and are watching to see whether Congress will stand up and overturn EPA\u2019s regulation banning the sale of most new gas cars.\u201d<\/em> <strong>\u2013 Chet Thompson, AFPM President and CEO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Methodology:<\/strong><br \/>\nSurvey conducted June 29 through July 1, 2024. 593 likely 2024 General Election voters participated in the survey. Survey weighted to match expected turnout demographics for the 2024 General Election. Margin of Error is +\/-4% with a 95% level of confidence.
