Essentially, the UN Population Fund is asserting that surrogacy is a natural right. Rebecca Oas and Patience Griswold, in <em>a Christian Post<\/em> opinion piece, refute this, noting that, quote, \u201csurrogacy violates the natural rights of children by dividing the person of \u2018mother\u2019 into three separate optional and purchasable roles: the genetic mother, the birth mother, and the social mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Surrogacy is mostly about the wants and desires of adults. It\u2019s not about the best interest of the child, who always suffers loss. Additionally, commercial surrogacy tragically commodifies children. This issue is especially important for Christians to think seriously and biblically about.
