Wisconsin\u2019s Republican U.S. Senator says it\u2019s not accidental Wisconsin\u2019s voter rolls remain filled with dead people and voters who have moved out of state.<\/p>\n

Sen. Ron Johnson was on Fox Business over the weekend, and once again criticized Democrats for wanting \u201cto make it easy to cheat in elections.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re not going to clean up the voter rolls. In Wisconsin for example, we have about 7.5 million people on our voter rolls [and] we only have 3.5 million people eligible to vote. But we can\u2019t get our Democratic governor and our Election Commission [which is] also populated by a bunch of radical leftists, to actually clean up those voter rolls,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cThey want to make it easy to cheat. I know we\u2019re not supposed to say that, but to me it\u2019s just obvious is the nose on your face.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once on Wisconsin\u2019s voter list, no one ever comes off. They are classified as either active or inactive.<\/p>\n

Johnson went on to attack the Biden-Harris Administration on immigration, saying Democrats are keeping the border open in an effort to find new voters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need some kind of, overall federal law, that says you must be a citizen to vote in federal elections,\u201d Johnson added. \u201cThat\u2019d be a good first step. I\u2019m sure Democrats in the Senate will reject it because Democrats, let\u2019s face it, let\u2019s be honest, Democrats want to make it easy to cheat. They let millions of people in this country to vote for them. They want to change elections. That is what this is all been about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Federal law does makes it illegal for non-U.S. citizens to vote in federal elections.<\/p>\n

Wisconsin\u2019s elections managers have said while no one ever falls off the state\u2019s voter rolls, millions of the seven-and-a-half million people on the rolls are inactive. That means they haven\u2019t voted in years, and would have to reregister if they ever want to vote again.<\/p>\n

Johnson has been critical of Wisconsin\u2019s Election Commission, and the state\u2019s election laws since the 2020 election.<\/p>\n

Republican lawmakers in the state tried to close what they call 2020 election loopholes and have tried to pass a law that would allow only U.S. citizens to vote in the state, but Gov. Tony Evers scuttled those attempts.<\/p>\n

Currently in Wisconsin, a person must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible to vote in statewide elections, according to state law.<\/p>\n

Despite that requirement, lawmakers did put a question on the November ballot that asks voters in the state if they want a constitutional amendment that allows only U.S. citizens to vote in elections in the state.<\/p>\n
