Yet, every year in Wisconsin, Governor Evers insists on distorting history and renaming the day \u201cIndigenous Peoples\u2019 Day,\u201d due to a recent politically correct trend that portrays explorers like Christopher Columbus as evil colonizers.<\/p>\n<p>Many false revisionist narratives surround Christopher Columbus, but we know the truth: Columbus was responsible for freeing scores of slaves who were oppressed by cannibals and sought to introduce the natives to Christ.
