The News: <\/span><\/b>The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) is preparing new legal actions in defense of female students and parental rights in the wake of a new <\/span>executive order<\/span><\/a> issued by President Trump and his Administration this week.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Quotes: <\/span><\/b>WILL Education Counsel, Cory Brewer, stated, \u201cWILL continues to fight alongside parents to protect girls as well as their safety and privacy. Time and time again, we have heard complaints from parents that school districts place radical gender ideology over their rights and their daughters\u2019 safety. The Trump Administration has changed that overnight.\u00a0<\/span>We are prepared to maximize the impact of these decisions at the federal level, across Wisconsin, and throughout the nation.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What Trump Did: <\/span><\/b>The executive order defines sex as male or female based on biology, requires all federal policies and documents to follow this definition, rescinds prior guidance supporting gender identity recognition, and prohibits federally funded programs from promoting gender ideology.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Notably, the order also requires agencies to \u201censure that intimate spaces designated for women, girls, or females (or for men, boys, or males) are designated by sex and not identity.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why It Matters:\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>WILL attorneys have been representing a female student at <\/span>Sun Prairie East High School<\/span><\/a> and her family after the student was forced to shower next to a fully undressed adult male student. WILL filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education alleging sex discrimination, and the <\/span>Biden Administration opened an investigation<\/span><\/a>, which is ongoing.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WILL\u2019s Restoring American Education project has been at the forefront of helping school districts navigate the former Biden Administration\u2019s troubling Title IX rule by providing various <\/span>policies<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>guidance<\/span><\/a>. We are prepared to share this new common-sense guidance from the Trump Administration and help school districts charged with protecting the privacy and safety of our nation\u2019s young girls. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
