Evers\u2019 plan would include tax hikes on manufacturers and a significant increase in government spending. In response to the proposed budget, Wisconsin Manufacturers &amp; Commerce\u2019s Scott Manley released the following statement:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cGovernor Evers\u2019 budget is an attack on small businesses, manufacturing, and the middle class. He proposes to tax manufacturing production in Wisconsin at a time when we need to produce more goods within our borders. He also proposes to increase the personal income tax paid primarily by small businesses, despite a $4 billion budget surplus, in order to fuel a reckless twenty-percent increase in government spending. Taxing small businesses and family-supporting manufacturing jobs is the exact opposite of what Wisconsin needs to do to ease the financial burden on families.
