He\u2019s not even pretending any more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The latest look at Gov. Tony Evers\u2019 budget puts a price tag on just how much the governor hopes to get out of tax and fee increases, as well as new \u201ccollections\u201d from the state.<\/p>\n<p>The Legislative Fiscal Bureau released\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/misc\/lfb\/budget\/2025_27_biennial_budget\/504_state_tax_and_fee_modifications_included_in_the_governor_s_2025_27_budget_recommendations_3_24_25\"><strong>the report<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn summary, the changes included in the Governor\u2019s budget would increase net taxes by $2,223,493,200, and would increase net fees by $356,301,800,\u201d the LFB wrote. \u201cIn addition, it is estimated that measures\u2026to enhance the collection of current taxes would generate an additional $189,420,400.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGov. Evers told all of us during his budget address in February that he was going to cut taxes. Yet, about a month later, we are now finding out the actual truth: Gov. Evers\u2019 budget proposal is irresponsible and unsustainable,\u201d Sen. Patrick Testin, R-Stevens Point, said on Monday. \u201cThe good news is Legislative Republicans won\u2019t let that happen and will work hard to craft a fiscally-responsible budget that both addresses our state\u2019s priorities and delivers meaningful tax relief.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LFB reported that Gov.
