Dubbed \u201cFord Motor Company: From America, For America,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/money\/cars\/ford\/2025\/04\/03\/ford-rolls-out-a-new-campaign-and-discounts-on-cars-as-tariffs-kick-in\/82779894007\/\">the program<\/a>\u00a0effectively drops the price of new Ford and Lincoln vehicles by thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Ford\u2019s Chief Policy Officer Steve Croley,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6370970692112\">appearing on\u00a0<em>Fox &amp; Friends<\/em><\/a>, tied the decision directly to President Trump\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseestar.com\/economy\/analysis-commodities-interest-rates-collapse-after-president-trumps-reciprocal-tariffs-announcement\/dtorch\/2025\/04\/03\/\">historic tariff announcement<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday. \u201cWe\u2019ve heard some uncertainty from our customers,\u201d Croley said. \u201cFord, the most American auto company, is going to do right by them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Starting Thursday, U.S. customers can\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fromtheroad.ford.com\/us\/en\/articles\/2025\/a-handshake-deal-for-america-ford-employee-pricing-for-everyone\">access employee pricing<\/a>\u00a0on most gas, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and diesel Ford and Lincoln models.<\/p>\n<p>For electric vehicle buyers, employee pricing is combined with the Ford Power Promise, which includes a complimentary home charger and standard installation for retail EV purchases \u2014 a perk extended through June 30.<\/p>\n<p>Notable exclusions to the offer include high-demand specialty vehicles like Raptors, certain Mustang and Bronco editions, the 2025 Expedition and Navigator SUVs, and Super Duty trucks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Employee pricing \u2013 labeled internally as \u201cA-Plan pricing\u201d \u2013 is calculated by a formula posted on a company information and eligibility <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myplan.ford.com\/myplanweb\/jsp\/howitworks\/myplan_x_rules.htm\">web page<\/a>\u00a0called \u201cMyPlan.Ford.com\u201d:<\/p>\n<p>Dealer Invoice \u2013 Holdback \u2013 Advertising Assessment + Administration Fee = Price<\/p>\n<p><em>The Detroit Free Press<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/money\/cars\/ford\/2025\/04\/03\/ford-rolls-out-a-new-campaign-and-discounts-on-cars-as-tariffs-kick-in\/82779894007\/\">reportedly<\/a>\u00a0spoke to a local dealer who confirmed, as an example, \u201cthe purchase of an F-150 XLT hybrid pickup that has a Manufacturer\u2019s Suggested Retail Price of $65,000, it would cost $55,000 with the A Plan\u201d and the Escape ST SUV \u201cthat has a sticker price of $36,300, would cost about $33,000 on the A Plan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rob Kaffl, the company\u2019s director of U.S. sales and dealer relations, framed the initiative as more than a sales gimmick \u2014 it\u2019s a \u201chandshake deal with every American.\u201d In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fromtheroad.ford.com\/us\/en\/articles\/2025\/a-handshake-deal-for-america-ford-employee-pricing-for-everyone\">statement posted<\/a>\u00a0on the Ford blog early Thursday, Kaffl emphasized Ford\u2019s 121-year legacy of building reliable vehicles and supporting American jobs. \u201cIn times like these, talk is cheap. At Ford, we believe in action,\u201d he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fromtheroad.ford.com\/us\/en\/articles\/2025\/a-handshake-deal-for-america-ford-employee-pricing-for-everyone\">said<\/a>. \u201cWe understand that these are uncertain times for many Americans\u2026 and we want to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With approximately 2.1 million vehicles assembled in the U.S. in 2024 alone \u2014 80% of the vehicles Ford sells domestically \u2014 the company appears to be leaning into its \u201cMade in America\u201d identity. A fact sheet\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fromtheroad.ford.com\/us\/en\/articles\/2025\/facts-about-ford-us-manufacturing\">released by the company<\/a>\u00a0in the days leading up to President Trump\u2019s tariff announcement noted Ford employs roughly 57,000 hourly U.S. autoworkers \u2014 more than any other automaker \u2014 and supports over 170,000 jobs through its nearly 3,000 Ford and Lincoln dealerships nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Ford\u2019s F-Series trucks, America\u2019s best-selling vehicle for 43 consecutive years, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fromtheroad.ford.com\/us\/en\/articles\/2025\/facts-about-ford-us-manufacturing\">company said<\/a>, remain a cornerstone of its production, with nearly 1 million units rolling off assembly lines in Michigan, Missouri, Kentucky, and Ohio in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Kaffl\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/money\/cars\/ford\/2025\/04\/03\/ford-rolls-out-a-new-campaign-and-discounts-on-cars-as-tariffs-kick-in\/82779894007\/\">told<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0<em>Free Press<\/em>\u00a0that the company has \u201ca very healthy stock\u201d of new vehicle inventory; noting that as of late March, Ford had a 64-day supply of new vehicles across its dealer body. \u201cBut overall gross day supply, which includes the inventory at dealerships as well as vehicles that are in-transit to a dealership, is a robust 74 days,\u201d he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/money\/cars\/ford\/2025\/04\/03\/ford-rolls-out-a-new-campaign-and-discounts-on-cars-as-tariffs-kick-in\/82779894007\/\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A \u201cdays\u2019 supply\u201d is a measure of the number of days it would take at the current sales rate to deplete available inventory. The auto industry typically considers 60 days to be a healthy rate, the\u00a0<em>Free Press<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/money\/cars\/ford\/2025\/04\/03\/ford-rolls-out-a-new-campaign-and-discounts-on-cars-as-tariffs-kick-in\/82779894007\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ford\u2019s \u201cFrom America, For America\u201d program runs for a limited time \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6370970692112\">Croley said<\/a>\u00a0the offer will end in \u201cthe next couple of months\u201d \u2014 though exact end dates remain unspecified.<\/p>\n<p>During the 2008-09 financial crisis, Ford was the only major U.S. automaker to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/gm-ford-chrysler-almost-died-during-financial-crisis-changes-since-2018-9\">avoid bankruptcy<\/a> and a government bailout.\u00a0 Instead, the company relied on a previously secured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/greatspeculations\/2010\/11\/08\/ford-the-remake-of-an-american-icon\/#5ca9b81d108c\">$34 billion<\/a> in financing in 2006 as a part of a restructuring called the \u201cONE FORD plan.\u201d The company cut costs, shed brands like Jaguar and Volvo, and focused on core products like the F-Series. By 2010, Ford returned to profitability, posting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleveland.com\/business\/2011\/01\/ford_earns_66_billion_in_2010.html\">$6.6 billion net income<\/a>\u00a0that year.<\/p>\n<p>In their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/s205.q4cdn.com\/882619693\/files\/doc_news\/2025\/Apr\/01\/Ford-U-S-Q1-2025-Sales-Release.pdf\">quarterly report<\/a>\u00a0released Tuesday, Ford\u2019s U.S. sales rose 6.8% to 508,083 vehicles.
