On the second Saturday of June, hundreds if not thousands of pro-life, pro-family people from communities around Wisconsin will gather together at the State Street steps at the State Capitol in Madison from 2-4pm. There, we will rally with speakers who will address a variety of pro-life, pro-family topics as we support women and their babies and “embrace them both.”

The person we want to see there?

YOU.

The story of the pro-life cause in Wisconsin is one of ordinary people, living ordinary lives. As much as the March for Life Wisconsin is a reminder to our state government leaders to protect human life at the state and local level, it’s also a celebration of that same gift of life! It’s our chance to gather together, to become informed on the life issues, and to show Wisconsin what it looks like to live lives with meaning and purpose.

So what have we learned about the Wisconsin men, women, and children that attend the March for Life Wisconsin that compels us to say that YOU are the person we need to have at this most important pro-life event of the year?

You are convinced that the life of the child in the womb is worthy of protection.

You are willing to risk disagreement with friends or family about your involvement in protecting the lives of the most vulnerable (the elderly, preborn, disabled…)

You are willing to endure discomfort (hours in the June sun, Madison parking, a crowded area) to bring the message of LIFE to Wisconsin.

You lead by example, bringing your children, friends, fellow church members to stand for life alongside you.

You are open to the Holy Spirit to speak truth and love to those affected by abortion.

You are committed to keep working and praying for the day when all of God’s children are protected in our state and national laws.

If any of these resonated with you, we urge you, DO NOT MISS the March for Life Wisconsin! And if you’re unsure, come seek the answer to the question, “How can I help protect human life?”

We invite you to reflect on the words of Martin Niemöller, a Lutheran Pastor in Germany who was persecuted by the Nazis during World War II:

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me.

The preborn, the vulnerable elderly, those with disabilities, moms in crisis pregnancy situations, they all need us. They need you. They need your voice to speak for them at the state level, the local level. And those that disagree with the message of loving all human life need to be met with the truth from those they love.

Come stand for life and be equipped to build a pro-life culture alongside Pro-Life Wisconsin, Wisconsin Catholic Conference, Wisconsin Family Council, and Wisconsin Right to Life.
