Tony Evers has had enough and that\u2019s not a good thing for Democrats.<\/p>\n

More Wisconsinites (48%) approve of the way he handles his job than disapprove (46%), according to the June Marquette Law School poll<\/a> of registered voters.<\/p>\n

Asked if they have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of the current governor, the numbers are just slightly worse: 45% favorable and 47% unfavorable.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s a lovefest in comparison to respondents\u2019 view of the Democratic Party of which Evers is a part. Fully 61% of Wisconsin registered voters polled by Marquette last month have an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party \u2014 14 percentage points higher than the unfavorables for Evers and 10 percentage points higher than the unfavorables for the Republican Party.<\/p>\n

The poll didn\u2019t ask why so many voters dislike Democrats, whether it\u2019s a reaction to the national party staying in lockstep for so long with a clearly failing Joe Biden or dissatisfaction with a far-left policies and rhetoric that often dominate Democrats\u2019 discourse.<\/p>\n

Just this week, representatives of the far left in Wisconsin, include Sen. Chris Larson, issued a petition<\/a> \u201cas our state begins to turn its attention to the 2026 election cycle\u201d calling for a $20 minimum wage and collective bargaining rights for every single worker in the state, among many other things.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both are a great way to kill jobs and business growth<\/a>, lower tax revenue and drive migration to friendlier, smarter states.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Wisconsin remains a purple state where 39% consider themselves conservative or very conservative, 33% are moderate and 28% liberal or very liberal, according to the poll. Unlike years past, a majority approves of vouchers to attend private or religious schools and now have an unfavorable view of Black Lives Matter, according to Marquette polling. Voters are now more concerned about holding down property taxes than increasing spending on public schools, for example.<\/p>\n

Tony Evers, given his policy positions to the left of where many Wisconsinites are, was not a lock for re-election by any means. But voters knew him and, for the most part, didn\u2019t strongly dislike him, according to the polling. That was a fortunate thing for Democrats.<\/p>\n

The good fortune just ended.<\/p>\n
