There have also been several women injured by transgender athletes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"WeeHTHa94sA\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Stefanik Highlights The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WeeHTHa94sA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>President Joe Biden has threatened to veto the bill if it passes, but it is unclear if the bill could even get a vote in the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe left\u2019s lunacy is robbing women and girls of equal opportunities in the name of inclusion,\u201d Republican Whip Tom Emmer said at the news conference.<\/p>\n<p>Christiana Kiefer, senior counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, a group that has represented young girls in lawsuits on this issue, heralded the bill\u2019s passage. She pointed out the bill affirms Title IX protections for girls, though the Biden administration has tried to reinterpret the wording of that statute, an issue that will likely be decided in the courts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGirls shouldn\u2019t be spectators in their own sports,\u201d she said. \u201cThe \u2018Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act\u2019 reaffirms the vital protections for women\u2019s sports guaranteed by Title IX, ensuring that women and girls truly have equal athletic opportunities.
