For instance, he defines \u201cnatural parent\u201d as a parent of a child who is not an adoptive parent, whether or not the parent is biologically related to the child. That\u2019s a serious change. He also sought to legalize same-sex marriage in the statutes, which has never been done, and substitutes the word <i>spouse<\/i> for <i>husband <\/i>and <i>wife <\/i>throughout the law.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\">The governor even wanted the word <i>spouse<\/i> used in place of <i>husband<\/i> anywhere birth certificates are referenced and instead of using the term <i>mother<\/i> in the description uses \u201cthe person who has given birth.\u201d The governor was doing his best to unravel the family and to deny children their birthright.
