Ahead of the Joint Finance Committee\u2019s tax proposal release for the state\u2019s biannual budget, WMC\u2019s Director of Tax, Transportation & Legal Affairs Evan Umpir joined Meg Ellefson to discuss Wisconsin\u2019s tax rate is higher than neighboring states, ranking as the 8th highest in the nation for its income tax rate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWisconsin can\u2019t afford to improve our tax climate slowly and cautiously,\u201d Umpir shared. \u201cWe have a $6.9 billion dollar surplus.
