NEW BERLIN<\/strong> \u2013 Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) \u2013 the combined state chamber and manufacturers\u2019 association \u2013 and Americans for Prosperity \u2013 Wisconsin (AFP-Wisconsin) hosted an economic and policy roundtable ahead of the first 2024 presidential primary debate on Wednesday. The event featured a legislative panel and a CEO panel.<\/p>\n

Sen. Devin LeMahieu and Sen. Chris Kapenga joined AFP-Wisconsin\u2019s Megan Novak to discuss how state policies, especially regarding taxes, energy and the economy, are impacted by federal leadership. Through pro-business policy on both the state and national levels, Wisconsin small businesses and manufacturers could expand more, producing more goods and providing needed economic stimulus. Business executives Roger Roundhouse from CentroMotion and Bill Berrien from Pindel Global Precision then joined WMC\u2019s Kurt Bauer to share their concerns about inflation, increased regulatory burden and unrealistic energy policies. The Biden Administration\u2019s implementation of regulatory policy slows down business unnecessarily, while the steady increases in taxes stifle growth. Many Wisconsin manufacturers are concerned with the federal government\u2019s expectation for energy policy. The market is the best determinant of good and sustainable energy sources, not sweeping government regulation.
