{"id":5819,"date":"2023-09-25T17:02:44","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T17:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/?p=5819"},"modified":"2023-09-25T17:06:10","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T17:06:10","slug":"poll-trump-beats-biden-by-10-points-in-head-to-head-matchup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/?p=5819","title":{"rendered":"Poll: Trump Beats Biden by 10 Points in Head-to-head Matchup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post originally appeared at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wisconsinrightnow.com\/abc-news-washington-post-poll\/\">https:\/\/www.wisconsinrightnow.com\/abc-news-washington-post-poll\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump would defeat President Joe Biden by 10 points in a head-to-head general election matchup, a newly released poll shows.<\/p>\n<p>The ABC News\/Washington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.langerresearch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1230a3PresidentialPolitics.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>poll<\/strong><\/a> was done in conjunction with Langer Research Associates and found that in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, Biden has 42% support compared to Trump\u2019s 52% support among registered voters.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_112701\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-112701\" style=\"width: 976px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-112701 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Screenshot.jpg\" alt=\"ABC News\/Washington Post poll\" width=\"976\" height=\"300\" title=\"ABC News\/Washington Post poll\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-112701\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Screenshot of abc news\/washington post poll<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden\u2019s job approval rating is 19 points underwater, his ratings for handling the economy and immigration are at career lows, a record number of Americans say they\u2019ve gotten worse off under his presidency, three-quarters say he\u2019s too old for another term and Donald Trump is looking better in retrospect \u2013 all severe challenges for Biden in his re-election campaign ahead,\u201d the group said in a news release.<\/p>\n<p>The survey found 62% of Democrats say the party should pick someone other than Biden as their nominee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong the 62 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents who oppose Biden for the nomination, 16 percent say they\u2019d vote for Trump over Biden,\u201d Gary Langer of Langer Research Associates said in his analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, who maintains a healthy lead over his Republican primary challengers, has slightly improved in his support while Biden has slightly declined, according to the poll.<\/p>\n<p>Trump faces an array of state and federal charges with expected court dates to interrupt his campaigning in 2024.
