{"id":6260,"date":"2023-10-04T21:21:59","date_gmt":"2023-10-04T21:21:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/?p=6260"},"modified":"2023-10-10T21:29:51","modified_gmt":"2023-10-10T21:29:51","slug":"new-scw-report-highlights-schools-work-with-students-with-disabilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/?p=6260","title":{"rendered":"New SCW Report Highlights Schools\u2019 Work with Students with Disabilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post originally appeared at <a href=\"https:\/\/schoolchoicewi.org\/new-scw-report-highlights-schools-work-with-students-with-disabilities\/\">https:\/\/schoolchoicewi.org\/new-scw-report-highlights-schools-work-with-students-with-disabilities\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>WEST ALLIS<\/strong> \u2014 School Choice Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Institute of Law and Liberty (WILL) today released a new report that shines new light on the amount of special needs students in Wisconsin\u2019s choice schools serve students with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The report, <a href=\"https:\/\/schoolchoicewi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Serving-All-%E2%80%93-Students-with-Disabilities-in-Wisconsins-Parental-Choice-Programs.pdf?blm_aid=0\">Serving All: Students with Disabilities in Wisconsin\u2019s Parental Choice Programs<\/a>, demonstrates that contrary to previously-reported, incomplete data, private schools in Wisconsin\u2019s choice programs enroll roughly the same percentage of students with learning disabilities as public schools.<\/p>\n<p>Based on responses from schools enrolling 40 percent of students in the state\u2019s choice programs, the SCW-WILL research found that more than 10 percent of students in choice schools likely have a disability.
