{"id":6628,"date":"2023-10-12T19:28:58","date_gmt":"2023-10-12T19:28:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/?p=6628"},"modified":"2023-10-25T16:24:24","modified_gmt":"2023-10-25T16:24:24","slug":"a-group-of-laws-worth-revisiting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/?p=6628","title":{"rendered":"A Group of Laws Worth Revisiting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post originally appeared at <a href=\"https:\/\/badgerbubbler.com\/news\/change-the-law\">https:\/\/badgerbubbler.com\/news\/change-the-law<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ChangeLaw01.jpg\" alt=\"ChangeLaw01\" width=\"300\" height=\"234\" style=\"margin: 15px;float: left\" \/><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">There seems to be a predicament in state politics that can be easily taken care and it should garner support from both Democrats and Republicans.\u00a0 It&#8217;s the length of terms for those who serve on commissions and boards.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the focus is on Megan Wolfe, <span class=\"expandableItem\"> the administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, and in the recent past, it was Frederick Prehn, a former member of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources<\/span>.\u00a0 Both have stayed in their positions past the limit of their terms.<\/p>\n<p>What can be done?\u00a0 Maybe it&#8217;s time the governor and the legislature do their jobs and look at the laws about these positions and make changes so it stops being an issue and allows them to work on matters of greater importance.<\/p>\n<p>What changes can be made?\u00a0 Change the language of the law to be more specific about the terms of service and how they are administered.
