{"id":668,"date":"2021-08-05T16:38:35","date_gmt":"2021-08-05T16:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/?p=668"},"modified":"2023-02-24T15:17:07","modified_gmt":"2023-02-24T15:17:07","slug":"just-one-chance-baby-saved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/?p=668","title":{"rendered":"Just One Chance \u2013 Baby Saved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post originally appeared at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prolifewi.org\/blog\/2021\/8\/5\/just-once-chance-baby-saved\">https:\/\/www.prolifewi.org\/blog\/2021\/8\/5\/just-once-chance-baby-saved<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>JUST ONE CHANCE<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\"><em>By Dan Miller, Pro-Life Wisconsin State Director <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It was another gorgeous day.\u00a0 Perfect for sidewalk counseling.\u00a0 Typically, when someone is dropped off at the abortion center, the sidewalk counselors split up to talk with the woman entering and the driver of the vehicle.\u00a0 Not always, but very often in my experience, if the driver is a man, he is most likely the father of the child.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">At around 3:00 p.m. when the next car presented itself across the street at the gas station, we went to meet them, and I split off to talk to the male driver.\u00a0 He accepted the literature I offered, and I told him about the free help at the pregnancy resource center nearby. He replied, \u201cI don\u2019t have time to watch two kids.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u00a0I responded, \u201cHow does watching two kids take any more effort than watching one until they start walking?\u00a0 I think you can handle two babies, no problem!\u00a0 That\u2019s not a good reason to kill your child.\u00a0 If it were a good reason to kill your child, why not just kill the baby in the car seat back there, and let the new baby live?\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In a crinkled, disgusted face he said, \u201cI could never do that.\u00a0 That\u2019s murder!\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I followed up with, \u201cSo let\u2019s look at what we\u2019ve got here.\u00a0 Two of your children.\u00a0 One is outside the womb, the other inside.\u00a0 Why does the baby outside the womb give you murder charges and the other doesn\u2019t?\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">He said, \u201cThe baby in the womb is not a person.\u00a0 You get your rights when you are born.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I continued, \u201cOkay.\u00a0 So, that\u2019s like saying that once you step inside your car, you no longer have rights.\u00a0 You are saying it\u2019s all about physical location.\u00a0 How would you feel if that were true?\u00a0 Bad cops would love that, wouldn\u2019t they?\u201d\u00a0 He knowingly rolled his eyes and nodded in agreement.\u00a0 I said, \u201cRight now you are being a bad cop to your child in the womb just because of his or her location.\u201d\u00a0 I then took the opportunity to follow up with his personhood comment. \u201cWhy do you suppose babies in the womb were not granted personhood by the U.S. Supreme Court in the <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> decision?\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">He responded, \u201cBecause they wanted to make abortion legal.\u00a0 If you are a person, you have rights.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I said, \u201cYes, you understand personhood very well.\u00a0 It was for the same reason that the U.S. Supreme Court denied personhood to black slaves in America, so they could continue to enslave them.\u00a0 This long fight for social justice for black Americans has now entered the womb.\u00a0 That is why we stand out here in the hot sun, to be a voice for those babies who can\u2019t defend themselves.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">He still wasn\u2019t convinced he should intervene for his child.\u00a0 Then I noticed he was wearing a Milwaukee Bucks t-shirt, so I decided to make the most of that.\u00a0 I said, \u201cGiannis has an incredible story, right?\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">He replied, \u201cYeah, for real.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I continued, \u201cJust fifteen years ago, he was begging in the streets of Greece for his next meal.\u00a0 If you applied your way of thinking to Giannis, he would have been aborted.\u00a0 His family was dirt poor.\u00a0 They had nothing going for them.\u00a0 But look at him now.\u00a0 With a little hard work and determination, he is a millionaire.
