One Republican state senator wants more answers from the University of Wisconsin about the porn-producing former chancellor at La Crosse.<\/p>\n

Sen. Steve Nass, R-Whitewater, the legislature needs to find out just what the UW knew about Joe Gow\u2019s porn videos.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, Porn Star Chancellor Joe Gow should have been fired.\u00a0 However, that simple action doesn\u2019t resolve the institutional rot that permeates the culture at too many of our UW System campuses,\u201d Nass (pictured above) said in a statement. \u201cWhen did UW System leaders find out about the carnal career choice of the UW System\u2019s longest chancellor? Did the UW System suppress the pulsating knowledge of Gow\u2019s growing movie performances in order to keep the legislature in the dark to save Speaker Vos\u2019 DEI deal, thus receiving nearly $800 million from the state?\u201d<\/p>\n

The university agreed to that deal on diversity, equity and inclusion earlier this month.<\/p>\n

That deal freezes DEI hires at the UW and repurposes about a third of the university\u2019s current DEI administrators. In exchange, the legislature gave the university money for pay raises for 35,000 employees and released millions more for other university needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe legislature should not move forward on the DEI deal until we know if the UW System covered up Chancellor Gow\u2019s conduct until the Vos and UW system deal was finalized,\u201d Nass added.<\/p>\n

Nass said in addition to DEI, the University of Wisconsin has a long history of deviancy, dysfunction and indoctrination.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u201cThe UW System continues its lengthy run over the years as the laughingstock of the state and nation. Is anyone truly shocked that a public institution of higher education was being led by a porn star?\u201d Nass asked. \u201cThe UW System has aided and abetted a significant number of faculty, staff and administrators that believe in the philosophy of DDI.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former chancellor Gow said he was shocked to be fired for his porn videos, which he continues to frame as a free speech exercise.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not expect that we\u2019d end up where we are now,\u201d Gow told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in an interview Thursday. \u201cI thought at least the board, given their staunch support of free speech, would be a little more understanding. But clearly that\u2019s not the case.\u201d<\/p>\n
