The reasons for that vary, but according to The New Yorker, the Bible is quote \u201cthe best-selling book of the year, every year.\u201d In two thousand six, per the New Yorker, the amount spent annually on Bibles has been put at more than half a billion dollars.\u201d According to Guinness World Records, the Bible is the best-selling book of all time.<\/p>\n<p>George Barna says eighty eight percent of Americans own a Bible, and most own multiple copies. While that\u2019s impressive and even encouraging, the big question is whether Americans who own a Bible actually read it, and more importantly do they believe it and live according to its teachings?
