We are on the cutting edge of litigation and policy work to ensure every vote is safe, legal, and counted.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week, our work is being showcased on the national stage. Our very own Dr. Will Flanders, WILL\u2019s Research Director, testified in front of the House Committee on Administration about the perils of privately funding election administration\u2014and the significant impact on elections such spending can have.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Often called \u201cZuckerbucks,\u201d the Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL) funneled millions of dollars to privately fund election administration in 2020. This funding went disproportionately to Democratic areas in Wisconsin. Our research estimated that this funding was correlated with more than 8,000 additional votes for Joe Biden across the state.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Flanders also discussed one of WILL\u2019s recent legal victories in Racine. A judge ruled that state law does not permit mobile absentee voting sites or so-called \u201cvoter vans.\u201d They were used in the 2022 election and cannot be again. This van was funded with grants from CTCL.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The issues come back to the concept of fairness, and an equal application of the law to every American regardless of where they fall on the political spectrum. Unfair election practices only serve to undermine that faith, and lend credibility to those who put forth less defensible claims of election fraud.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">WILL stands to defend America\u2019s interest that those on both sides of the aisle have their\u00a0faith restored in our electoral process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\u201cWILL\u2019s work to protect elections in Wisconsin and ensure they are conducted in accordance with our laws is vitally important,\u201d said Chairman Bryan Steil. \u201cAs Chairman, I\u2019m committed to securing our elections.
