But Milwaukee Judge Janet Protasiewicz is refusing to debate former Justice Dan Kelly.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Left-wing Supreme Court justice Janet Protasiewicz is ducking her first opportunity to debate former Justice Dan Kelly, and organizers are planning to put an empty chair in her place during the March 1 Carroll University forum in Waukesha, Wisconsin Right Now has learned.<\/p>\n<p>The forum is being moderated by a University of Wisconsin-Madison senior, Zach Lemke, and Carroll College University students were going to ask questions. Kelly has confirmed that he will be attending, debate organizers tell WRN.<\/p>\n<p>The forum will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on March 1 at Carroll University\u2019s Shattuck Music Center, 218 N East Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-102120 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/wifamily.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/supreme-1024x625-1.jpg\" alt=\"Supreme Court Debate: Janet Protasiewicz\" width=\"1024\" height=\"625\" title=\"Supreme Court Debate: Janet Protasiewicz\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.the5riders.com\/event-5174073\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">There is now a notation<\/a> on the website that reads, \u201cOn the afternoon of 2\/27\/23, via phone call with the Protasiewicz campaign, Judge Protasiewicz has declined to attend the forum on 3\/1. Former Justice Daniel Kelly is confirmed and will address the questions developed for the candidate forum as scheduled.\u201d You can get tickets still at the above link.<\/p>\n<p>Protasiewicz\u2019s campaign initially said they would consider debating, but suddenly said no on February 27, 2023, just two days before the debate, said Oconomowoc Alderman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oconomowoc-wi.gov\/directory.aspx?EID=4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Lou Kowieski<\/a>, who is helping organize the debate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the5riders.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">for the 5 Riders<\/a>, a community group devoted to advancing \u201ca mission to perpetuate Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kowieski confirmed to WRN that an empty chair will stand in Protasiewicz\u2019s place.<\/p>\n<p>He said the forum was designed to provide both candidates with an opportunity \u201cto provide their positions to the community.\u201d Four questions would come from the 5 Riders group, two from Carroll University students, and one question from each campaign, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know how you could get more of a level format from that,\u201d said Kowieski.<\/p>\n<p>He said that they are \u201cplanning an empty chair\u201d because \u201cwe wanted both sides represented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that the organizers are \u201cextremely disappointed.\u201d He said they probably wouldn\u2019t have had the forum if Protasiewicz had declined to debate with more advance notice.<\/p>\n<p>Asked his reaction to her declining, he said, \u201cIt speaks for itself.
