The Senate already approved the bill 30-2 in January; today\u2019s vote approves an Assembly amendment and forwards the bill to Governor Evers for his signature.<\/p>\n<p>WMC, the combined state chamber and manufacturers\u2019 association, is urging Governor Evers to sign the legislation into law, emphasizing the need to eliminate unnecessary red tape and allow private businesses to enter an emerging market. WMC Senior Director of Environmental &amp; Energy Policy Craig Summerfield released the below statement:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThank you to the legislature for their important work on this issue, especially authors Senator Marklein and Representative VanderMeer. Private businesses should be able to offer electric vehicle charging to their customers for a fee without having to compete against facilities owned by the government and subsidized by taxpayers. A recent Wisconsin Employer Survey found that nearly 9 in 10 employers support this concept.
