As we wrap up May with a special emphasis on mothers, it’s good to reflect on some quotations that beautifully capture the importance and essence of mothers and motherhood. An unknown source says, “To the world, you are a mother, but to your family, you are the world.” Steve Rushin notes, “Moms are as relentless as the tides. They just don’t drive us to practice; they drive us to greatness.” And Abraham Lincoln poignantly adds, “No man is poor who has a Godly mother.”

Honoring mothers is good to do every day of the year. The Bible tells us to honor our parents and has no time or age restrictions whatsoever. Dads, your kids will honor and respect their mom in much the same way and to much the same extent as you honor and respect your wife. Your example in this is essential.
