Happy 248th birthday, America! As we enjoy parades, fireworks, and time with family and friends, may we also reflect on what our Founders risked to give us this land of freedom and prosperity. All fifty-six signers of the Declaration of Independence willingly pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. They weren’t just thinking about themselves and their families; they were envisioning future generations that would benefit from their selfless commitment and actions.

On July 3, 1776, John Adams wrote his wife, “I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration….Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means.” End quote. Thank you, John Adams and all the rest! Happy Fourth, everyone!
