The campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris celebrated her first official campaign event near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Tuesday night, billing it as a massive success.

“Wisconsin is fired up for [Kamala Harris],” her rapid response team posted on X Tuesday, attaching a panoramic view of the rally’s crowd.

Far-left influencer Victor Shi likewise celebrated the rally.

“Holy cow,” he said. “Completely packed stadium for VP Kamala Harris on her first campaign stop as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee in Wisconsin right now. People are so fired up, energized, and ready to support Kamala Harris.”

Harris’ rally was not held at a “stadium.”

Rather, it was held in the gymnasium of West Allis Central High School, a Democrat stronghold just southwest of Milwaukee. This fact was not lost on X users, who pointed out that Harris and her supporters were clearly exaggerating the magnitude of the event.

“Wow how amazing.. a high school gymnasium.. she must be REALLY POPULAR,” one person said.

“Harris packs a small HS gym and Trump packs arenas,” said conservative commentator Jack Lombardi II, attaching a photo of a campaign rally for former President Donald Trump in a full stadium.

“Kamala held her 1st rally in Wisconsin and could barely fill a high school gym. When Trump goes to Wisconsin, he has overflow crowds. Wisconsin Democrats know this which is why they’re bringing back dropboxes to steal it again,” said online personality DC Draino.

The responses to Shi were similar.

“That’s a high school gym, not a stadium. Probably holds about 1000 people. President Trump gets tens of thousands of people at his rallies. Oh, and Kamala is as dumb as able [sic] of rocks,” said one respondent.

“‘Stadium’? This is a High School gym,” said conservative commentator ALX.

Wisconsin was a battleground state in 2020. President Joe Biden, who, after pressure from top-level Democrats, quit his 2024 reelection campaign, edged out Trump by .7 percent of the vote.

A total of 1,630,866 Wisconsinites voted for Biden, while 1,610,184 voted for Trump.

Trump flipped the former decidedly blue state red unexpectedly in 2016, likewise by a margin of .7 percent.

In 2014, former President Barack Obama beat former Republican Senator Mitt Romney by 6.7 percent in the state.
