Knodl says, quote, “From red to blue states, legislatures across the country are coalescing around the idea that too much screen time is a negative mental health outcome. More succinctly, they are a significant distraction in the classroom and lead to a loss in learning.”
Los Angeles school district has banned student cell phone usage during the school day, and New York City is considering a similar policy. If large school districts in liberal states and cities are willing to take what some believe is drastic action, it’s time our Wisconsin schools and even the legislature seriously study and act responsibly on this issue, for the well-being of students.
