MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce Director of Environmental & Energy Policy Craig Summerfield released the below statement following the introduction of the EPA’s proposed guidelines for specific PFAS:

“WMC will carefully review the proposed standards released today by the Biden-Harris Administration. Unfortunately, the proposal appears to go far beyond any reasonable criteria for regulating PFAS. For example, they are completely out of line with the draft guidelines of 100 ppt for PFOA and PFOS from the World Health Organization. WMC continues to support standards for PFAS that are reasonable, cost-effective and based on the latest peer-reviewed science. We look forward to reviewing the proposal in greater detail and submitting comments to the EPA.”
