That day is generally considered to be the end of World War One, “the war to end all wars.” The following year, President Woodrow Wilson declared November eleventh “Armistice Day,” which, after World War Two, was renamed Veterans’ Day. We continue to celebrate this important day in recognition of the valiant men and women who have given much on our behalf through their military service.
I think that we still significantly recognize Veterans’ Day speaks well of our country. From small towns to large cities, from church pulpits to school assemblies and even to restaurants large and small, we give special recognition to those who have been part of ensuring our safety, our freedom, and our way of life. To all the veterans, we honor and thank you today!
