Liberty Counsel reports that a federal jury awarded a record twelve million dollar verdict to a Catholic woman fired by the health insurance company Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for refusing the COVID-nineteen shot due to religious reasons. According to the lawsuit, Blue Cross unlawfully terminated two hundred and fifty employees who had submitted religious exemption requests. Nearly one hundred and eighty of those fired employees are also suing the company in separate lawsuits.

This employee sought a religious exemption because she objected to the use of aborted fetal cells to test and manufacture the vaccine, believing abortion to be wrong according to her Catholic faith. No one should be forced to violate their religious beliefs at the risk of losing their job. This federal court got it right; others should follow the example and respect religious freedom.
