Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty’s recently released annual Apples to Apples report found that students participating in Wisconsin school choice programs outperformed students in public schools at the highest rate recorded since the publication’s first release. In Milwaukee, school choice students scored 14.30% higher in English and Language Arts and 14.17% higher in math than students enrolled in Milwaukee public schools. This study continues to demonstrate the importance of school choice in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin parents have the right to choose how their children are educated. Rising test scores among school choice students indicate the overwhelming success of these voucher programs in our state. Lawmakers should move towards universal school choice; families should be able to choose the best school for their children, regardless of their income or zip code.
