As May ends, so do the frequent reminders to honor and thank our mothers for their love and sacrifice. And sometimes moms need some help being moms. Suzanne, writing for just homemaking dot com offers some tips for being a good and godly mom. She says love unconditionally, really listen, stand up for what you believe in, get involved and cheer on your kids, open your home and heart, have fun and laugh, appreciate your kids for who they are, lighten up, and above all pray every day for your children.

These and other daily acts of selflessness that characterize a mother impact her children for years to come, and her wise teaching is truly a blessing from God. Solomon’s words in Proverbs echo this truth and should be heeded, “Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.”
