The Dane County Board of Supervisors recently released a resolution making August Transgender History Month. In the one-page document, the board revealed not only their commitment to recognizing transgender individuals, but also their determination to make education “inclusive.” The resolution took an even more unsettling turn when the board concluded, in reference to transgender and non-binary youth, that, “inclusive education and access to affirming care are fundamental to their health, safety, and future.”
More and more young people who have undergone transgender surgeries and have taken transgender drugs are telling us that these so-called “treatments” have caused them irreversible harm. With this knowledge, county boards should be committed to protecting children, not encouraging and promoting harmful gender ideology within education.
