Today is National Day of Prayer. In April 1952, congress passed a bill that requires that the president set aside and proclaim a suitable day each year, other than a Sunday, as a National Day of Prayer, on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals. In May 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed a bill designating the first Thursday in May as National Day of Prayer.

This is a national observance I hope we don’t ever lose. Our nation and our state need prayer! At noon today, our organization will participate in an NDP event at the state capitol. Part of what we will be praying for is for God to work in the heart and mind of the judge who today is hearing the case that is designed to overturn our law that bans most abortions in our state.
