Attorney General Merrick Garland is expected to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on September 20.
U.S. Representative Tom Tiffany (R-WI-07) can’t wait.
“Oh, yeah. This is going to be a really good hearing,” Tiffany told The Star News Network Thursday on the Simon Conway Show, on NewsRadio 1040 WHO in Des Moines.
A member of the leading committees aggressively investigating allegations of corruption surrounding President Joe Biden and his family, Tiffany said Garland has a lot to answer for. High on that list is why the Department of Justice stood in the way of government whistleblowers like Gary Shapley.
Shapley, the IRS agent who led the tax evasion investigation into Biden’s drug-addicted son, Hunter Biden, testified earlier this summer that the DOJ curtailed the probe.
“When I took control of this particular investigation, I immediately saw deviations from the normal process. It was way outside the norm of what I’ve experienced in the past,” he told CBS News earlier this year. “It just got to that point where that switch was turned on. And I just couldn’t silence my conscience anymore.”
Shapley told Biden administration officials his unit had enough evidence to seek a subpoena. The agents were blocked.
“The Department of Justice tipped off Hunter Biden about the interview between Shapley and his team at the IRS and it did not happen because of what the Department of Justice did,” Tiffany said. “That’s only one thing that needs to be questioned in two weeks when Merrick Garland joins us.”
As Fox News reported last month, an “FBI supervisory special agent told congressional investigators that the Biden transition team and Secret Service headquarters were tipped off in December 2020 about a planned interview of Hunter Biden – a tip-off that resulted in the interview of then-President-elect Biden’s son not taking place at all, even while he was labeled the target of the yearslong federal investigation.”
Whistleblowers told the House Oversight and Accountability Committee in July about disturbing incidents of stonewalling by the DOJ that blocked further investigation into allegations of Biden family influence-peddling schemes.
Records obtained by the Oversight Committee show the Biden family set up over 20 shell companies, most of which were created when Joe Biden was vice president. IRS whistleblowers confirmed the existence of these companies.
Bank records obtained by the committee show the Biden family, their business associates, and their companies have received some $20 million from foreign nationals’ and their related companies. The Bidens engaged in many intentionally complicated financial transactions through their associates to hide these payments and avoid scrutiny.
And both the Oversight Committee and whistleblowers have confirmed Hunter Biden received millions of dollars from China, Ukraine, and Romania. IRS whistleblowers also presented evidence of Joe Biden’s knowledge and possible involvement in his family’s business schemes.
The White House has denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
Tiffany said he’s most concerned about the stonewalling, saying the Justice Department is “playing hide the ball” from the American people.
“Are they trying to run out the clock on this president’s term, because we see [California Gov. Gavin Newsom] sitting in the wings out there in California,” the congressman said. “I believe the goods are going to be brought home in regards to Joe Biden because the evidence is so strong. “
As Tiffany noted, the evidence is well documented. The records are hard to deny.
He said Hunter Biden is a “middleman” in a corruption case that keeps leading back to his powerful father.
“Who this is about is Joe Biden. It’s always been about Joe Biden,” Tiffany said. “And I believe it wasn’t Hunter Biden using his father’s name as some people tried to portray. It was Joe Biden using his son as the vehicle to bring that $20 million from Ukraine, Kazakstan, Russia, China, all these countries, some of them our adversaries.
“They’re writing checks to the Biden family and Joe Biden used his son, in my opinion, to be the vehicle to get that money to his family.”
