While more than half of Americans have accepted some level of evolution, this poll shows over sixty percent of Americans believe God had a partial or exclusive hand in the state of humanity today. Just under fifty-three percent of Americans believe that humans today are either exclusively or partially due to evolution.
These numbers are a bit surprising because research has seemed to show that increased exposure to college-education and declining levels of religious belief have had a major impact on Americans’ belief in evolution. What’s significant here is the reality that what a person believes about origins forms the foundation of that person’s all-important worldview.
