Absentee ballots are already being mailed, and early in-person voting begins next week. On every ballot will be two referendum questions which if passed will amend our state constitution. Both questions deal with the “Zuckerbucks” issue from the twenty-twenty election when millions of dollars from outside sources, as well as unauthorized outside personnel, were given or sent to five of Wisconsin’s largest municipalities to supposedly help with the election.
Question one bans outside money from our elections, and question two bans unauthorized people from working on our elections. The wording of these questions is available at myvote.wi.gov. We urge all voters to check their sample ballot before they vote and be sure they know what a yes vote and a no vote mean on these referenda questions.
