Wisconsin housing developers are set to receive $32.6 million in housing tax credits for 2024, part of $525 million in workforce housing in this year’s biennial budget, Gov. Tony Evers’ office said.
The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority received $56 million in grant requests from developers with 23 developments in 14 counties that will create 1,383 affordable housing units being awarded the grants.
The federally funded 9% housing credit grants were worth up to $1.4 million with $16.6 million in total awarded. Compass Lofts (Milwaukee), Dodgeville Family (Dodgeville), Elllis Potter Apartments (Madison), Haven on Main (La Crosse), Park Lofts (Madison), the Conway (Madison), The Pines at Park Falls and Woods Hollow (Woodruff) all received at or near the $1.4 million credit.
A separate state and federal 4% tax credit sent $9.5 million in federal and $6.5 million in state funding to developers with Taking Shape B1 in Madison receiving a $2.3 million federal and $1.2 million state credit.
Merchant Place Apartments in Madison received a $1.9 million federal and $1.2 million state award.
