In a recent Christian post interview about his new book dealing with the war on the American family, Doctor Ben Carson stressed the need for America to have more “traditional nuclear families.” Carson asserts that too many in government do not want families to be self-sufficient but rather want them dependent on government. He says during his time as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, his programs saw between five hundred thousand and a million people lifted out of poverty.

For years we have proclaimed the truth that strong, independent natural families—meaning married dad-and-mom families—are Wisconsin’s best natural resource and the foundation of our prosperity and freedom. Financial policies at every level of government can either help or hurt families when it comes to their becoming or remaining independent.
