1. If you were king for a day and could wave a magic wand, what policy change in Wisconsin would you enact?

Universal school choice. We need to fund students, not systems. Wisconsin’s school choice programs have been immensely popular, it’s time to figure out a way to get rid of all caps. Let parents decide what school is the best place for their child to learn, and empower them to do so by ensuring the resources follow that student.

2. What’s your favorite Wisconsin beer?

Definitely Happy Place by Third Space Brewing in Milwaukee. A very drinkable year round beer that they call a midwest pale ale. It’s a bright hoppy beer that’s great for drinking outside in the summer months, particularly while tailgating at Brewers Games, and it’s got a little bit of a tropical taste that helps you make it through those cold winter months, especially for tailgating at Packer games in December. Doesn’t get much better.

3. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Ronald Reagan’s famous desk plaque: “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn’t mind who gets the credit.” I have been fortunate to work alongside some of the smartest and hardest working people I have ever met throughout my career, and I am grateful to have been a part of some really cool success stories because those teams were more focused on doing good for others.
