Wisconsin is one of those states. In Wisconsin Huey found that over eight hundred seventy-thousand Evangelicals abstained from the twenty-twenty election. Biden won the state by just under twenty-one thousand votes. Huey believes that what these Evangelicals decide to do this election depends on what American pastors do leading up to the election.
It’s important that pastors and churches understand that reminding people to vote and even to honor God with their vote is not illegal. Churches can legally distribute educational material about candidates. Christians abstaining from voting and churches going silent about elections is antithetical to being good stewards of the government God has given us.
