Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, or WILL, along with other pro-freedom organizations, filed a complaint recently against the Milwaukee Public Schools for providing gender transition guidance to minors without parental consent or knowledge. This action is in direct violation of federal laws that require schools to give parents prior notice of evaluations and access to their child’s records. WILL is challenging the Department of Education to open an investigation.

Parents have a legally protected right to be involved in every aspect of their child’s education. Encouraging gender transition for children without parental consent is a tremendous abuse of power and influence. The Department of Education must hold Milwaukee Public Schools accountable for these violations of federal law.
