Republican legislators recently introduced a bill in the US House of Representatives to deter doctors and hospitals from providing transgender hormones and surgeries for minors. The bill would create a legal pathway for children who have undergone these so-called treatments, or their parents, to bring a civil lawsuit against their medical provider. Legislators are hopeful that the possibility of legal action will cause both hospitals and doctors to refrain from providing these drugs and surgeries so liberally.

As individual states, including Wisconsin, work to pass laws that will prohibit transgender drugs and surgeries for minors, this legislation will help protect children from those who wish to take advantage of their vulnerability. Gender-confused children need real help from those who will share the truth, not harm from those complicit in pushing a dangerous ideological agenda.
