Over the last year, AI Chatbots have invaded the digital world and influenced vulnerable children to harm themselves and others, sparking concern among American adults over the growing number of unregulated AI companies. In spite of this reality, members of Congress continue to prioritize business innovation over human flourishing; but the American people want change. A new poll from Institute for Family Studies and YouGov shows that 90% of adults would support protecting children from the dangers of AI over increasing AI innovation.

It’s time to hold these companies accountable for the harm they are inflicting on our nation’s youth. We need opportunities at both the state and federal levels to regulate AI for minors and ensure that tech companies are creating products that prioritize human flourishing. Protecting children, however, ultimately starts with parents as the first line of defense.
