Our THIRD Pillar: LEGISLATE

Here is the third and final blog of three about Pro-Life Wisconsin’s vital work inviting you to be a part of our GivingTuesday* efforts TOMORROW! Each Monday for the three weeks leading up to GivingTuesday on December 2nd, I will have been with you how your gift impacts what we do here in light of one of our three pillars: Educate. Legislate. GivingTuesday Donations

In October, our State Director, Dan, our Legislative Director, Matt, and I were in a meeting at a local coffee shop giving some legislative and educational updates to a donor. During the meeting, a man who noticed our Pro-Life Wisconsin logos came up to our table, introduced himself, and showed us a photo on his phone, saying, “If it wasn’t for you guys and the work you do, my twin granddaughters would not be here.” With tears in his eyes, he shook each of our hands and left. We looked at each other in awe, speechless and grateful for that powerful personal testimony.

The work we do saves lives; we hear it every day. In order to do that, we need all three pillars as a complete, unshakable foundation (see pillar 1 here and pillar 2 here). The third and final pillar of Pro-Life Wisconsin comes through our work on the state level: LEGISLATE. Many people are surprised to know the there is a distinct entity, Pro-Life Wisconsin, Inc., (PLW INC) that we fund for our legislative efforts in our state. As a 501(c)(4), PLW INC exists to lobby state officials in Madison, promotes pro-life legislation and legislators and seeks to defeat legislations that threatens preborn children, the elderly, and the disabled.

We are a 100% pro-life organization, and we desire to seek legislation that desires to protect preborn lives and honor their personhood. The legislative work we do is an uphill battle, but when lives are at stake, there is no hill too high for us. 

By looking into our Legislative tab on our website (ProLifeWI.org/legislate) you can seek the work we have done in the past and are currently working on at the state level. You can also find your legislators and seek updates on who we at Pro-Life Wisconsin endorse for political office. 

Day in and day out we lovingly yet firmly call on all those in public office to enact policies for the care and protection of every human person.
