Part-time Development Assistant
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
About the Organization
Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) is a conservative legal center and policy think tank that defends the rights of workers and families in courts of law and public opinion. Through litigation, education, and participation in public discourse, WILL advances the public interest in the rule of law, individual liberty, constitutional government, and a robust civil society. We do so in partnership with like-minded individuals and organizations who are committed to conservative principles and a government bound to serving people, as our nation’s founders intended.
About the Role
The part-time Development Assistant will provide administrative, in-office support to WILL’s development efforts. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working in a database or in an administrative support role. Development internships may be counted towards this experience. This role will report to the Development Director and is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is not a virtual position. For the right candidate this position could work anywhere from 8 up to 20 hours per week, depending on the need of the candidate.
Responsibilities

Database Management: Maintain development records in DonorPerfect. Ensure overall data integrity. Run reports as needed, synthesize information and share frequent updates about current and prospective investors.

Donor Acknowledgment: Send acknowledgment letters/emails and tax receipts, working diligently to ensure donors are acknowledged in a timely manner.

Other Mailing Coordination: Coordinate mass mailings using the mail merge function in Word.

Special Event Coordination: Work with the Development Director to coordinate the annual gala and other donor or prospect events.

Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in any field; internships may be considered experience
- Culture and mission-driven, passionate about WILL and the work it does and excited to communicate that work to others
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and the capacity to multi-task and manage multiple assignments, sometimes with competing deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word. Excel experience is helpful but not necessary
- High degree of professionalism and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to merge letters and emails a plus
- Ability to learn new software and database programs is a must
